Congratulations to Bruce Hummel for being awarded HFCU's May Member of the Month! Some of the HFCU products and services Bruce and his family have used over the years include savings and checking accounts, HFCU Check card and VISA credit card, signature and vehicle loans, certificates of deposit (CD), and money market accounts.

Bruce received $250 for winning the Member of the Month award, and graciously asked to have the money donated to benefit the Lebanon United Way!

Here is his story:

"The best thing about banking at HFCU is the people who work there. They make the difference. I remember in the 1970's when HFCU was a one person, one room operation. Fred set the tempo for servicing members. Over the years, things have grown in a positive way; more options, more services, and with the help of the CEO and the board members, especially people like William Sprandel and Richard Fogleman, this one horse operation grew into an institution that deserved to be taken seriously.

But all along, the people who are front line employees kept the goal of top service to their members in mind. I don't wait in line for food, rides or money, but at HFCU I make an exception. Why? A friendly smile and a sincere, "Can I help you?" is worth the wait.

As Branch President at HERCO and Business Agent of Local 464, I wrote in the "Labor News", Put your faith in God, your trust in the union, and your money in the credit union!" During employee orientations I spend time explaining why credit unions (especially HFCU) are the best way to go. "Don't work for your money, let your money work for you" is my message. People helping people. For over 30 years people have stopped to thank me for guiding them to HFCU. THANK YOU FOR THAT!

My part in life is easy when it comes to HFCU. All I do is point people in the right direction. Once they meet the staff and see the benefits of being a member of HFCU, they realize they made the right decision. For me, as a union leader, I want the best for the members I represent. There are none better than HFCU, it's staff and peace of mind.
