Overdraft Privileges

Imagine this scenario...You’re standing in line at the grocery store after spending the last hour battling your kids and husband to make sure you have everything you need for the upcoming week. The clerk finishes scanning all your items, and gives you the total amount due. You swipe your HFCU debit card, and it reads, “DECLINED” because you didn’t realize that check you wrote two months ago for your son’s summer soccer league was cashed today, leaving your account with $150 less than you thought!

Believe it or not, scenarios such as this one happen all the time...and depending on your personal preference, you may or may not want the convenience of having your debit card protected with overdraft privileges that allow transactions such as this one to take place.

As of August 15th, members who have not opt-in to Courtesy Pay are no longer protected by overdraft privileges for their debit card.
