Community Involvement

Each year we award two $1,000 Scholarships to a deserving Hershey FCU member who is pursuing post-secondary education. The scholarship honors former Hershey FCU Board Chairmen Richard E. Fogleman and Richard Miller.

 

 

• • Applicants must be a Hershey FCU member with an account in his or her own name. The account must be in good standing to be considered.

    • New members are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary school. Proof of acceptance in a certified school of higher education is required with students name on all documents presented. Examples are an acceptance letter, enrollment letter, Fall 2026 class schedule, tuition bill, etc.

  • Applicants must complete the scholarship application, available at all Hershey FCU offices and online.

  • Applicants must submit the required essay (see application). 

  • Applicants must be willing to have their photo published in our Hershey FCU newsletter, our social media pages, and on our website.

The Scholarship Committee will review the applications, judge the essays, and two winners will be notified. Hershey FCU will send scholarship funds via check to the accredited school.

Hershey FCU volunteers in multiple Roll Up Your Sleeves (RUYS) events for The Giving Tree of Hummelstown and Hershey. We provide funding and assistance preparing supply kits that benefit families in the local community needing additional help.

Credit Unions for Kids is an extension of the Children's Miracle Network that benefits local hospitals. We provide donations and participate in events such as the Hot Dog Eating Contest and Miracle Jeans Day!
